Habotchim (Amudai Shaish)
You don’t have to be told where your health, food or livelihood comes from. We all know that everything comes from the Ribono Shel Olam – we daven to Him that He grant us health, wealth and success. However, it may not occur to us that we must daven that He grant us peace as well. Peace isn’t just something that exists in the absence of war and discord. Shalom, just like everything else, is a gift from G-d, and can only be given (or taken away) by the Master of the universe Himself. Such a powerful thought, especially during times of such open displays of hatred and violence.
Kah Ribon by R’ Ari Goldwag
It's very rare for a song to be composed nowadays for Shabbos zemiros and sung in thousands of Jewish homes on Friday night. I asked Ari Goldwag to give a little bit of insight into what he thinks makes this tune so special. Hopefully it will also give us a deeper...
Ki Lo Yitosh – 1973
The words that we say each morning in Yehi Chivod is the promise Hashem gave His people – the Jewish people – to forever protect them in the face of all danger. May this song and the meaning of these words give us tremendous strength in times of need.
Mesikus HaTorah (Yisroel Werdyger)
If we could somehow comprehend the sweetness of the Torah and of the guaranteed goodness that we are promised therein, we would become obsessed with the Torah and would chase the opportunities to fulfill its words at all times. Silver and gold would have absolutely no value, and nothing would distract us from trying to acquire its wisdom because the Torah contains all the pleasures of the world. There truly is nothing else to pursue!
Tefillah Le’oni
Chazal teach us that the power of prayer is not a matter of kavanah as much as it is our emunah in the efficacy of our prayer and in its intrinsic strength.
V’zakeini by R’ Baruch Levine
This episode is being released on Erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan, an auspicious time to daven for the spiritual welfare of our children. This tefilla that Baruch Levine so beautifully turned into a song, has in it all the yearning parents wish for their children. May we all...
Tatty My King by Dovid Edell
Produced by Aryeh Kunstler Tatty My King by Dovid Edell has become a go to song for someone struggling and feeling the need to talk to Hashem. With the tragedy this past week, and so many people struggling to understand Hashem's Master Plan, I reached out to Dovid...
Hinei Kel (Shalsheles)
At the end of every Shabbos, as we begin Havdalah and prepare ourselves for yet another week of unknown, we do so by symbolically overflowing our cups with the sweet blessing we hope and pray will fill our lives. With the words that we say each Motzei Shabbos, we confirm our belief in this Divine blessing, while at the same time acknowledging our firm trust in its Source.
Bar Yochai (Avraham Fried)
Oh, around the fire, dancing free,
Ashkenazi, Sefardi,
Chossid, Litvak, arm in arm,
Swaying together.
Women, children, taking part,
The youth, the old; yet, young at heart.
It’s thanks to you, Rabbeinu Bar Yochai,
One big family,
On Har Meron.
🕯 Eli Kohen Gadol and his sons, Chofni & Pinchas – 10th of Iyar
Year after year, a barren Chanah would cry from her sorrow, and would even be ridiculed for her inability to bear children. Finally, after 19 years of pain, she felt she could no longer accept her childless fate. Chanah lifted herself up and tapped into the most potent vehicle for change that exists in the world – Tefillah. At that moment, she davened the most heartfelt prayer she had ever prayed – clear and to the point, from the depths of her broken heart.
