Chaverim Kol Yisrael (Journeys)
We find ourselves within the stage of “Someich Geulah l’Geulah.” We have gone from the Yom Tov of Purim – the Yom Tov of giving freely to one another, exchanging gifts and distributing funds to the poor and to “kol haposhet yad nosnim lo.” Now, as we are about to announce the arrival of Chodesh Nissan – the month of Pesach, the month of “kol dichfin yeitzei v’yeichal, kol ditzrich yeitzei v’yifsach” – by doing so we are in fact proclaiming our readiness for the Geulah Shelaimah.
Menorah (Avraham Fried)
Throughout the centuries, we have long endured the persecution of our enemies, none more so than at the hands of Amalek – the remembrance of whom Hashem commands us to obliterate in this week’s parsha. To this day, its evil influence continues to plague our people, threatening to quash our sense of Torah values, our moral code of ethics and our performance of mitzvos. Even now, the wicked remnants of Amalek incessantly seek to extinguish our pure and holy flame.

Mordechai, Esther, and the entire story of Purim showed us that the correct response to all our troubles is a healthy dose of genuine remorse, earnest prayer, and the commitment to help those around us. And when we follow these steps, we can trust that Hashem will do His part and tear up any detrimental decrees.
Layehudim (Shenker)
While composed with Havdalah in mind, it has since become one of the most well-known Purim songs of all-time. However, as we have now learned, this is much more than just a seasonal tune. Layehudim contains a lesson that applies as much to us now, as we approach the upcoming holiday, as it does every week, as we extinguish the light of the Havdalah candle.
Menucha V’simcha (Miami)
For the first time in six days, we have the ability to exhale. We are finally able to identify and testify that Hashem is the Creator of the world, and with that comes the serenity and bliss for which Shabbos is best known. To have such clarity – to know that He is the One in charge – is what rids us of our worries and allows us to experience both menucha AND simcha at the same time.
